As per AHS guidance, we will maintain our outbreak status as we move into the winter break. Thank you to families for keeping sick children at home. These efforts have greatly reduced the rate of illness at Deer Run School. We are hopeful for a much healthier week ahead. Dear Families,It is hard to believe that we are already in the final week of school before the winter break! Students and staff have been busy enjoying the magic of the season. On Friday, we learned about Hanukkah during our school assembly, and this week we will continue our holiday celebrations by gathering to sing carols in the gym. Throughout the year, we celebrate and learn about a wide range of cultures, traditions, and celebrations, and we invite students to share during our weekly assemblies. We would also like to remind families that we aim to take students outside for short periods of time each day, even on colder days. Please ensure that your child comes to school with appropriate winter clothing, and do not assume that students will be remaining indoors. Have a wonderful week! If you were hoping to contribute, Monday, December 15, 2025 is the final deadline. Grade 5 & 6 Fundraising UpdateA huge thank you to the parents and students who volunteered at the Deer Run Community Market over the weekend. A total of $750 was raised toward Outdoor School (camp) fees for our Grade 5 and 6 students through the sale of used books, stuffed animals, and photos with Santa. A small but mighty group of parents continues to work hard to help reduce costs for all students. They are planning another bottle drive in early January, so please consider saving your bottles to donate to this worthwhile cause. Special Days This Week
