A special thank-you goes to our amazing School Council for generously providing popcorn for all students — a wonderful way to celebrate being back together! We also extend our gratitude for the delicious staff lunch provided on Friday — what a lovely way to end the week.

Remembrance Day Assembly 

  • All families and community members are invited to join Deer Run School’s Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. Each student will receive a poppy, and we will be collecting donations in support of the Royal Canadian Legion. We look forward to coming together as a community to honour and remember those who have served. 

Calgary Firefighters Toy Association Christmas Party 

This annual event aims to provide a joyful and meaningful Christmas experience for Calgary families with children aged 12 and under who may be facing economic or personal challenges. 

If your family would benefit from a referral, please email deerrun@cbe.ab.ca and let Mrs. Pulfer know that you would like to participate. 
Deadline for referrals: November 5, 2025. 

Popcorn Friday – November 7 

  • Friday, November 7, is Popcorn Friday! Popcorn will be available for $1.00 per bag.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch 

  • We’re excited to share that our next Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2025. This time, we’ll be enjoying delicious meals from Opa! Orders can be placed online through healthyhunger.com 

Parent/Teacher Conferences 

  • We recognize that, during the recent labour action period, school conferences were postponed. We are currently awaiting further information about potential adjustments to the school calendar. Once we have all the necessary details, we will promptly reschedule our conferences. 

 School Council Meeting 

  • Save the Date! Our next School Council meeting will be held on November 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Deer Run School Learning Commons. 

 Fall Break Reminder 

  • All CBE schools will be closed for Fall Break from November 10–12. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 13.
