This past Tuesday, a horrific tragedy took place in Tumbler Ridge, BC. We want to express heartfelt condolences from our team at Deer Run School. Our thoughts are with all of those impacted in Tumbler Ridge and beyond. Below are a number of resources for anyone who may be struggling and/or just needs some help.

We want to inform you of increasing concerns related to student behaviour in the neighbourhood that have been brought to our attention. These concerns include unsafe behaviour, inappropriate language, and incidents of intimidation. While many of these behaviours are occurring outside of school hours, they are increasingly impacting student relationships, learning, and the overall school environment. At school, we continue to reinforce expectations around respectful language, safe behaviour, and treating others with care and dignity.
We ask families to support this work by discussing the importance of positive choices in the community, respectful interactions with peers, and understanding how behaviour outside of school can affect the school day.
Our shared goal is to ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations.

Grade 5/6 Outdoor School – Fundraising Updates
Bottle Drive Success!
A huge thank you to all families who donated and volunteered at our recent bottle drive. Together, we raised $1,415.00 to support sending our Grade 5/6 students to Outdoor School. We are grateful for the dedicated group of parents and guardians working hard to make this experience affordable and accessible for all.
Texas Donut Fundraiser
Texas Donut sales are now closed. All pre‑ordered donuts will be delivered on February 26, 2026. Thank you for your incredible support—this fundraiser brought in $1,400! It’s official: Deer Run loves donuts.
