Hello Deer Run Families,

We’ve had another wonderful week of learning and growing together at Deer Run School. The warm weather has given many classrooms the chance to head outdoors and learn on the land. Throughout the day, students can be seen with their visual journals in hand, writing and drawing about what they see, hear, and feel.

On Friday, we gathered for our weekly assembly where we reviewed playground expectations and watched a short video about Canadian hero Terry Fox and his incredible contributions to cancer research. On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 2:15 PM, classes will head outside for our annual Terry Fox Run. Students are encouraged to bring a “Toonie for Terry”, and families are warmly invited to join the run or cheer from the sidelines.

Thank you to all who attended our first School Council meeting of the year. Meeting dates have now been set and will be posted on our school website this week. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Learning Commons.

Our Lost and Found is already filling up! Please remember to label all belongings with your child’s name so items can be returned quickly. Parents and guardians are always welcome to stop by and check for missing items.

Wishing you a restful weekend,
Shawna, Krista, and the Deer Run Team
