Remembrance Day

We would like to thank Mr. Baker, Ms. Michaud, Mr. Siemens and the grade 6 students for organizing and performing at our Remembrance Day Assembly.  A special thanks goes out to the Division 2 Choir and handbell group, who have been practicing for the last few weeks, after school.

The Giving Tree

With the holidays fast approaching, we will once again be participating in the Deer Run Giving Tree Tradition.  This is a volunteer activity that supports Deer Run families who are having difficulty with the holiday season's costs.  We are looking for gift card donations to support those in need.  Tags can be found on the Christmas Tree, located in the lobby of Deer Run School beginning November 23, 2023.   All gift cards need to be back to the office by Monday December 11, 2023, so they can be distributed to families.

Student Conferences

Conferences will be held Thursday November 23 and Friday November 24.  Appointments with teachers can be made through your MyCBE account.  A separate email was sent to families earlier this week.  Appointments will be held in person.  If you prefer a virtual appointment, please contact your child’s teacher for a link.

Used Book Sale

We will be holding a used book sale on Thursday November 23, 2023.  We will be accepting donations of children’s gently used books until November 22, 2023, in the school office.  Students will have the opportunity to purchase the books.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch

November 29 is Subway Lunch! All orders need to be placed through your Healthy Hunger account.

Student Code of Conduct

We continue to work with our students to understand the CBE Student Code of Conduct. This version is written in student friendly language. Please take the time to discuss it with your students. 

Winter Clothing 

If you need support with accessing winter clothing for your child(ren), please reach out to the office at deerrun@cbe.ab.ca.  We have some local community organizations that we can make referrals to and have had a few donations if good winter items made to the office.
